The world’s most iconic poker brand, the World Series of Poker (WSOP), has returned to Asia-Pacific for the first time in two years with the WSOP Circuit Sydney kicking off in the new Star Poker Room this week.

Boasting a full schedule of 12 ring events, including the AU$2,000 Main Event which kicks off on 8 December, WSOP Circuit Sydney was welcomed in by a special launch party on Monday night attended by a host of local celebrities from the worlds of fashion, sport and entertainment.

The event also signalled the official launch of the Star Poker Room following a multi-million dollar refurbishment to bring it in line with the best poker rooms to be found anywhere in the world. The new room boasts 40 state of the art poker tables and room to seat up to 400 players at any one time.

The ongoing redevelopment of The Star has also seen the launch of both its new member’s only room, Vantage, as well as Australia’s biggest Electronic Table Games Stadium in recent weeks – both of which are located right alongside the Star Poker Room.
