SJM to continue Grand Prix sponsorship

Written by Ben Blaschke

SJM has announced that it will again be event sponsor as well as official partner of Theodore Racing at this year’s Macau Grand Prix.

SJM Theodore Racing by Prema will field a three-car team in 2016 with drivers Felix Rosenqvist of Sweden, New Zealand’s Nick Cassidy and Germany’s Maximilian Gunther.

The team will be looking for back-to-back victories following Rosenqvist’s win last year.

The SJM Theodore Racing partnership has enjoyed tremendous success in recent years, winning the Macau Grand Prix together for the first time in 2013 before taking out its second in 2015.

Theodore Racing has been synonymous with the Macau Grand Prix since its founder Teddy Yip, known as “Mr Macau Grand Prix”, first competed as a driver in 1956. He went on to enter or sponsor racing teams until 1992.  Following a 21-year-break from competition, his son, Teddy Jr, revived the team name with SJM in 2013.

The 2016 Macau Grand Prix will run from 17 to 20 November.
