The who’s who of Macau’s VIP social and entertainment scenes…
Macau opened its arms to the world as 2016 wound down, welcoming a number of the year’s biggest festivals and global events.
The highlight was without doubt the 1st International Film Festival & Awards Macao which saw film buffs enjoy exclusive screenings and special events at a range of venues across the city.
Featuring selected films from around the world alongside the best of Asian cinema, the festival also provided its fair share of celebrity events including a special Opening Party at China Rouge attended by the likes of film stars Ludi Lin, Celina Jade, Lisa Lu, Sakuraba Nanami and Archie Kao.
While the International Film Festival is still in its infancy, Macau Tower celebrated its 15th birthday in December by hosting an anniversary cocktail reception. The occasion was attended by over 300 guests including Chairman of Macau Tower Convention & Exhibition Centre, Ms Pansy Ho, who praised the economic and visual impact of Macau Tower in her welcome speech.
December also saw a special presentation of the University of Macau Faculty of Business Administration’s Master’s Program in International Integrated Resort Management, which gave industry executives a sneak peek into the next wave of talented locals.
“Mastering Cotai”, held at Galaxy Macau, saw five recent Masters students present their theses to over 100 local industry leaders. The event was organized by Professor Glenn McCartney, Associate Professor in Hospitality and Gaming Management, and emceed by WGM CEO Andrew W Scott, also a student in the Master’s Program.
