The who’s who of Macau’s VIP social and entertainment scenes…
On 18 May 2004, Sands Macao officially opened its doors to become the first of the new gaming concessions to operate since the government opted to end the SJM monopoly. Ten years on, Sands Macao proudly celebrated its momentous 10th anniversary with a series of spectacular events. Among the highlights was an enormous sand sculpture by Team Sandtastic – a Guinness World Record-winning group of artists who created the only sand replica of a Sands building anywhere in the world.
The Chinese Music Awards returned to The Venetian Macao for the third consecutive year, bringing some of the biggest and brightest stars from China and beyond to the CotaiArena stage. Latin prince Ricky Martin, Korean boy band EXO-M, Japanese singer Kana Nishino and many others including Alan Tam, Show Lo, Jimmy Lin, Hins Cheung and Chi-Lam Cheung attended the event. International superstar David Beckham was also there to present the award for Most Stylish Singer and Most Popular International Chinese Singer to CoCo Lee.
And Macau’s longest running gaming trade show, G2E Asia, was back for its eighth year which, aside from providing an opportunity to glimpse the latest and greatest from the gaming world, also meant there was plenty of partying to be done. Of course, WGM was there to keep an eye on the festivities!
