Blue Man Group give unique Macau preview

Written by Ben Blaschke

As press conferences go, Blue Man Group’s appearance yesterday ahead of their upcoming Macau tour was somewhat unusual.

Introduced by none other than Dr Allan Zeman, whose Lan Kwai Fong entertainment hub in Hong Kong is supporting the tour, the gathered media throng was looking forward to hearing what the Blue Men had to say but a proposed interview didn’t quite go to plan … because the Blue Men don’t talk!

Instead, the Blue Man Group produced a preview performance of their world renowned show which currently enjoys a successful residency in Las Vegas. Blue Man Group first began in 1991 and features three bald, blue men producing a performance that is best described as comedy, theatre, rock concert and dance party all rolled into one.

One of the founders of the Group, Phil Stanton, said, “We want to create the feeling of excitement and energy boost that you get when you see something you’ve never seen before. We believe that every day we are on this crazy planet is worth celebrating — that’s what we do every night.”

The Blue Man Group will perform at the Venetian Theatre from 11 to 28 August.
