The world’s most expensive regular poker tournament, the Big One for One Drop, is off to a new home this year.

Previously held at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in 2012 and 2014, organizers One Drop and the WSOP have announced that the tournament will be moving to Monte Carlo in 2016 to form part of a week-long series of events from 13 October.

The Monte-Carlo One Drop Extravaganza will be held at the famous Monte Carlo Casino, with the exclusive Big One for One Drop Invitational main event on 14 October featuring a €1 million buy-in.

€111,111 from each entry will go to One Drop – a charity providing safe drinking water to communities around the world.

The event is scheduled to follow the highly-acclaimed Monaco Yacht Show and will be held concurrently with the Monaco International Clubbing Show, an event that brings together the best DJs in the business. Participants in the €1 million Big One for One Drop Invitational will be treated to complimentary accommodations and a variety of exclusive hospitality activities in the Principality.

Prince Albert II of Monaco said, “I am pleased that Monaco has been chosen to host the 2016 edition of The Big One for One Drop, one of the most innovative charity events.

“After only two editions, The Big One for One Drop has raised more than US$10 million for water, a cause that I hold particularly dear. I wish an even greater success to the third edition of The Big One.”
